The Froncysyllte Male Voice Choir, affectionately known as “The Fron,” is a world-renowned four-part male voice choir from the village of Froncysyllte near Llangollen. 2027 is their 80th Anniversary year and this concert will look back at their glittering historyEstablished in 1947, initially for the sole purpose of performing at the inaugural Llangollen Eisteddfod, the choir has a rich history of musical community spirit and they are still going strong to this day continuing to perform at prestigious venues and events. With many sell-out performances to their name, they have performed with many other famous artists and have toured the world.Over the years, the Fron has achieved significant acclaim, including gold and double-platinum chart-topping "Voices of the Valley" albums and still hold the record for fastest-selling classical album ever!. Their repertoire spans a wide range of genres, from traditional Welsh hymns to contemporary classics, with a commitment to preserving the tradition of male voice choirs while embracing modern influences, the Fron continues to inspire and entertain, bringing the joy of choral music to diverse audiences. For this concert, they welcome their special guests, the popular and prestigious Pendyrus Male Choir, travelling up from the Rhondda to celebrate this special occasion – North and South Wales unite in song!
